Quarter Pitch is a publication dealing specifically with the interests and concerns of people in the
midst of, entering, or exiting their twenties. It is also a vehicle for twenty-something writers looking for
publication credits. It is produced four times per year, with regular columns and features, but also maintains
an open submission policy for any literary or journalistic expressions dealing with the twenty-something arena.

Quarter Pitch is comprised of regular columns and features, however, it also maintains an open submission
policy for any relevant written material. Part of the mission of Quarter Pitch is to provide an opportunity for
struggling twenty-something writers to obtain publication credit. To that end, any work with literary or journalistic
merit will be seriously and carefully considered for publication. Artwork and photography are accepted only by prior
arrangement with the editor. Contributors retain all rights to the original material submitted. Rights on any edited
material may be obtained by permission from the editor of Quarter Pitch. At this time, Quarter Pitch does
not offer payment for published pieces obtained through open submission, but if a piece is accepted for publication,
the issue in which the piece appears will be sent free of charge to the author.

  • Any written material pertaining to the interests or concerns of twenty-somethings will be considered.
Authors need not be in their twenties, however, material must be of current interest. We will consider
fiction (all genres), non-fiction, essay, poetry, dramatic form, interview, review, and any other form of
writing. To increase your chance of being published, please read at least one issue to get an idea of our tone.
  • Artwork and photos are not eligible for open submission. Visual art printed in Quarter Pitch is obtained
only through solicitation by the editor.
  • There is no minimum word count requirement for prose or poetry submitted, however, maximum lengths are:
    • Prose: 4,500 words
    • Dramatic form: 15 pages
    • Poetry: 120 lines

be notified of the issue in which accepted material will appear.
